SYSTEM OF A DOWN Bassist Launches Web Site In Beta Mode

The Pulse of Radio reports: SYSTEM OF A DOWN bassist Shavo Odadjian's new web site called urSession.com (pronounced "your session"),an online music community that also doubles as a record company, launched in "beta" mode on Thursday (January 31). The site is geared toward giving musical acts the chance to both promote their own music and get an opportunity to sign with the urSession label. Odadjian told The Pulse of Radio that the site is open to all types of music and even other labels: "You could be hip-hop, you could be rap, you could be country, you could be whatever you want to be. If you're good, or if you have the balls to upload your stuff and be heard and seen — it's kind of like a win, win, win situation for all three: fans, artists and other labels too. We're not doing the whole kind of thing where if you submit something, the label owns that. Other record companies could always find artists off of urSession."

The three main components of urSession.com are urAudition, where musical acts can audition their music online, urCommunity, a place where members can promote themselves and connect with others, and urBand, an online classified ad board where musicians can find members for their bands through profiles, photos, videos and music samples uploaded to the site.

Odadjian plans to sign some artists to the urSession label based on which acts get the most votes from the site's community. The bassist said that the urSession label will be distributed digitally, although he has had discussions with major record companies about distribution. Odadjian is also continuing his career as a video director and working on a side project with the WU-TANG CLAN's RZA that's called ACHOZEN.
